Stability and positive progress marked this year in the life of the Miller
family. No marriages, births, deaths, divorces, graduations, new jobs,
moves or other re-arrangements for our immediate family this Y2K year.
We did however
participate in several weddings of family friends and the memorial service
for Rick's Aunt Frances.
We buried the ashes of Rick's parents in the
family plot back in Michigan and enjoyed the opportunity to visit with
numerous friends in San Francisco, Chicago and even Little Rock, AR.
Chris
After a year of trying,
Chris finally was able sell his second company,
bianca.com to Nerve.com,
for enough cash and stock to
be able to buy a house in California, although he hasn't done so yet.
(Chris's first company was
streams.com,
which he left in early 1995 when he moved to San Francisco)
He continues to work at e-commerce start-up
Bigstep.com
(formally called TheSpringfield Project)
as their Senior Interaction Architect
and loves every minute of it.
JoAnne
Jo Anne's first wireless
startup went public -
AirNet Communications
(ANCC),
but after a huge reverse
split she wishes that she had been with bianca instead!! Maybe JetCell, her
current start-up, will be THE ONE.
Rick
Rick continues to work at HOK on the
lighting and power design of office complexes, airports and prisons, jails
and federal penitentiaries.
Rick's business travels have taken him to Phoenix and Seattle
as well as Umitilla, Oregon and Atwater, California.
Lara
As a fourth year med student, Lara has been
very busy with rotations and applications and interviews for
internship/residency programs - January 24, 2000 is 'match day'.
Her graduation from med school is scheduled for May 29 and we'll
all be there with bells on,
waiting for our free meds. :)
Bay Area food and fun continues to bring pleasure,
with 99 out of 100 restaurants visited on the Top 100 List.
The opportunity to
spend time with parents and extended family continues to confirm that
our move West was a wise one.
We thank God for our good health and rejoice
in the richness of our friends.
The Lundys Lane B&B awaits you.
