Lara
(laradopa@hotmail.com)
Lara's big news this year was the successful completion of medical school
with graduation at the University of Chicago campus on May 30, 2000.
The extended family from California and Illinois
all came to this happy event and we shared a graduation brunch
with family and friends.

Having been selected by her first choice family practice residency program,
Lara is now living in St. Louis and working HARD
for her first money as a physician! Christmas marks her first break.
Chris
(freeform@bianca.com)
Chris is now in that "over 30" category and a homeowner to boot!
Chris spent most of the first half of 2000 fighting
the Bay Area Real Estate Market Madness,
and in May he finally found a tiny little bungalow
in the Temescal neighborhood of North Oakland

After two years Chris is still working at
Bigstep.com
(which still has funding, for now)
and communates daily on BART into the city,
as Bay Bridge traffic is hell (even on a motorcycle).
Rick
(richard.miller@hok.com)
The big milestone for Richard was turning 55 and getting those first discounts!
So far he hasn't joined AARP, but maybe next year. :)
He continues as chief electrical engineer at HOK.
This year has seen the completion of several of his 'justice' projects
(incarceration) as well as one new terminal at the San Francisco airport
and a campus for Veritas software.
His travels have taken him to Phoenix, Tacoma, Oregon
and the island of Saipan in the south Pacific.
Piano lessons continue, but no recitals this year.
JoAnne
(jhmiller@cisco.com,

After spending her 54th birthday with Lara in St. Louis,
JoAnne collected her present from Chris
(a 'long' motorcycle ride) in October

It was lots of fun, but JoAnne's not likely to be a full-time
'motorcycle mama' anytime soon.
Big news for this entrepreneur was a liquidity event for JetCell
- acquisition by Cisco Systems on May 1, 2000.
Integration has been very busy and the commute from San Francisco
to the Cisco campus has been anything but fun.
Great to see the JetCell product get launched thru the Cisco sales channel.
Now time to start thinking about what's next while 'vesting'.
Jo Anne and Rick have continued to make family, food, fun
and friends important parts of their lives together

Y2K has been a very good year for us all and we are so grateful for our health, family and friends.
We did say goodbye to one extended family member -
the aunt of Jo Anne's brother's wife, who died peacefully at 84 in February.
