2004 brings Expansion of the family
and Renewal of professional and personal connections The last twelve months have been busy, but healthy and happy for all the Millers! In June Rick and Jo Anne became in-laws for the first time as Anna Grace Christol and Christopher Richard Miller married in the Berkeley Botanical Garden!! It was a wonderful day for all of us. Over Labor Day weekend, Dr. Lara got engaged to Glenn Stewart while visiting Hawaii and plans to marry him next Labor Day in St. Louis!! We are so happy. Rick's consulting buisness, RNM Engineering, celebrated a second successful year, but despite more than 50 trips to Santa Barbara for business, he can.t seem to find time to take a real vacation! Meanwhile, Jo Anne rejoined the corporate world as a Principal of Innovent Nokia a seed-stage entreprenurial investing team and visits Helsinki quarterly. We do appreciate those benefits now that we are "junior seniors"! We did have a chance to see several friends from high-school, college and Chicago times as we used our weekends and frequent flyer miles to travel and hosted at our "B&B" as well. Much fun and good times shared. As the year ends, we will spend Christmas proper in CA before traveling to visit Lara and Glenn in St. Louis and spend New Years in LA as we attend the Rose Bowl and hopefully finally get to see a Michigan victory there! We are also eagerly awaiting the long-delayed award of a building permit in San Luis Obispo county for the construction of our 'future residence'. Of course we also are planning to celebrate Rick's "Big 60" in style in 2005 Find us online at rickmiller@rnm-eng.com and joannemiller@rnm-eng.com and come see us in person at the Lundy's Lane Bed and Breakfast!! |
